I agree with Shonda...they're real workhorses and use either a floppy disk or a memory stick. We have one at home and in spite of its "clunkiness" we love it. Just toss a bunch of floppies in the bag and you're good to go. My husband is a paleontologist and this is the one he grabs when he goes on a dinosaur dig. It's very rugged and gets banged around a lot and just keeps on working and working...whoops, that's another commercial! Reggie BOOKS. The original laptops. Like Reggie mentioned they are inexpensive and are relatively easy to use. They don't require any hook-ups (connections, wires, etc. that can get lost) and most anyone can use them without needing additional assistance. We haven't had any stolen but we do have them checked out for long periods of time. Right now we have three for our high school (and probably need more). I would recommend them if you want a "work-horse" camera for students / faculty at a reasonable price. ~Shonda Shonda Brisco, MLIS US / Technology Librarian Fort Worth Country Day School Fort Worth, TX "Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible." ~St. Francis of Assisi sbrisco@fwcds.org http://www.fwcds.org/campus/libraries/default.asp >>> Reggie Buresh <rburesh@MAHTOMEDI.K12.MN.US> 12/13/05 8:27 AM >>> We like the Sony Mavica digitals. They're less than $200 around here, I believe. They're bulky, which the kids don't care for, but they use a standard floppy disk which is very nice when multiple users are involved. They can just swap the disks in and out depending on need. Because they're NOT small and stylish, we've never had one stolen! Reggie BOOKS. The original laptops.
