My understanding is that "commercial use" would mean you are charging someone to see it, but I'm no lawyer. Definition of Commercial Use (as found on the web): Any wholesale, retail, or service business activity established to carry on trade for profit. Just last night, coincidentally, TechTV had a mock gameshow in which they ran something "Is This Legal Or Not." I think this was one of the questions. Their question was a little different - It asked if they went to the local DVD rental shop and charged a fee, is it illegal. The answer was "yes and no." If the group is small and you are just covering the cost of the rental, not an issue. If you have a large group, however, and you make a profit on it, that's a no no. Again, you aren't making a profit, so I'd bet you're fine. We purchased a video our science curriculum coordinator requested entitled "The Mutter Museum, strange medical mysteries" from Discovery Store.com. We received and processed it, however about a month later we received a letter from them that said schools did not have the rights to show it. The video itself just says "Any commercial use or duplication of this copyright material...without prior licensing is forbidden..." -------------------------------------------- My mailbox is spam-free with ChoiceMail, the leader in personal and corporate anti-spam solutions.
