My original question was where did the book How Angel Peterson got his Name by Gary Paulsen belong--813 or 813.54, fiction or biography. The replies from various LM_Netters indicated that a case might be made for any of those locations since 813 would be the DDC for biographies about an American Fiction author (and .54 for the era). Similarly a 921 or B or similar biography location would be logical. Others used Fiction since some of the tales in this book appear somewhat fictionalized, and/or that is where the students are likely to browse and find and check out this work. I chose to go with 921 since we do keep our biographies separate from the subject area--teachers sometimes assign students to read a biography. I'll bow to LOC and the publisher who call this biographical and non-fiction. No matter where the book is, it's a very good read!!
