It is comforting to know I am not alone in this mess I call a desk.
A person once posed the theory that visual learners must have all the
projects visible. Non visual learners are the ones who can put projects in
files and work from there. ..based upon that I am definitely a visual
learner!
In an effort to "do better" I have purchased a very nice vertical file
holder for my desk top at school. It will hold a large quantity of files
and they are all visible; I'll let you know how it works out!
...a real horror story: A sub with a compulsive neat streak (unknown
to me at the time she was called) took it upon herself to organize and clean
my area when she subbed for me! I was HORRIFIED and ANGRY when I returned.
...I have since added a paragraph to my sub instructions that say "I know my
desk area is a mess, but the piles mean something to me. Do not mess with
the work on my desk." I have also never allowed that person to sub for me
again.
