Newsweek had a recent issue devoted to autism.
If you go to this link

look on the right of the screen about 1/3 of the way down you will see
the list of articles. It is near the box that says "search the
archives."
The articles pointed out that 1 out of 166 children (in the US) have a
diagnosis of the various syndromes that are part of the autism
spectrum..I found that number shockingly high.
