Further to the recent inquiry/hit about digital cameras -- we have used the Sony Mavicas for the past few years but, as the previous hit mentioned, floppy disc technology is fast becoming a thing of the past. What we liked about the floppy disc was that students could take their photos, take the disc with them and return the camera for others to use. Having to download the material often ties up the camera when others are waiting for it. I have a Hitachi DVD camera, but the rewritable discs are too expensive to be handing out to students as casually as I did the floppies. So my question is: Have any of you found a format that works as conveniently as the floppy? If you use memory sticks, do they get returned? What other suggestions do you have? Thanks for your help.
