[LM_NET] Series book for 4th graders

The principal at the 5th grade school wants to buy all our  4th graders a
series book for use in May then give them another from the same series to take
home for the summer. The theory is to "hook" them on the series so they will
read this summer.

I would appreciate any suggestions for a  4th grade level book that might
work for all the kids?Also, inexpensive so parents can afford to buy more.
