[LM_NET] ELEM: Need help with cataloging

Hi,
I have a set of book from the series Getting To Know...Nature's
Children.  They each contain two separate books with two separate titles
and information--yet they are all part of one physical book!  Does that
mke sense?

The librarian before had cataloged them seperately and put a barcode on
the front for one title and a barcode on the back for the other title.
This is very confusing for my library aides and student helpers.  I was
thinking about combining the information into one MARC record and one
barcode.  But--I am suddenly feeling a little bit out of my league on
this decision.

Any advice or suggestions?
