I need some help so I'm coming to the experts.
This is my first year as a Media Specialist. I'm trying to get used to
the very busy schedule, amount of students and required meetings. I found
out last Monday that my 'objective goal' for the year was due on Friday, the
7th. Needlesstosay I didn't get a library goal to my evaluator. I did
pass in a classroom management goal.
Here's the question..What type of objective goals have any of you set in
the past? What do you use to measure that goal? I was thinking of setting
a goal of having all 2nd graders locate a non-fiction book on the library
shelf. (ie use the computer to locate a book, physically go to the shelf to
get). But there isn't 'physical' proof in that. I don't have a mentor in
the school to help me out and I'm fustrated.
I would like to give you some background. I work in a k-5 elementary school
in Hartford. Due to the size of the school (875 students) I only see weekly
k-3 (that's 29 classes). 4th & 5th graders have NO library time (that's a
sin). My classes are 45 minutes fixed schedule.
Any suggestions, ideas, guidance would be appreciated.
