I have a question about the 260#b field in MARC records (name of publisher, distributor, etc). I have two copies of the same title, one a hardcover and one a paperback. The hardcover lists Delacorte as the publisher on the title page, while the paperback lists Dell Yearling on the title page. They are both imprints of Random House. The hardcover has already been cataloged (the record came from the vendor) and in 260#b Delacorte is listed. My question is whether I can legitimately add the paperback as a second holding record on this bibliographic record (if so, should I change the publisher to Random House?) or do I need to have separate bibliographic records for each?
