Last week I posted a request for cute activities I could use with the
kindergarteners after reading "Olivia." I had some good suggestions which I've
posted below but I ended up searching for a pig cookie recipe and making that
instead.

However, ideas for teaching could be:
-make a picture of Olivia on a piece of poster board; cut out a hole for
heads; take pix of each student as Olivia
-if you're doing the Circus book, have a local model railroader bring in his
circus layout
-Have everyone wear red, black and white one day
-Get pig ears and noses for everyone to wear
-Make Olivia puppets and after you read the story, let the students retell
it as a puppet show
-Make costumes and videotape the students acting out the story
