Dear Wise Ones: Do those of you blessed with older solid wooden shelving use anything to clean and/or nourish the wood as you are shifting books? I thought of using Murphy's Oil Soap in solution but am afraid there might be some lingering chemical left after it dried that would not be good for the books. I've also heard that oil of wintergreen rubbed into shelving warded off mildew and that musty dusty smell. I don't have a chance to do this often, so I wanted to make it count! I would be glad to post a hit if anyone else is interested.
