Though the information coming out of Kansas yesterday and today is
shocking and scary, even worse is that many schools will not be able to
read the news stories covering this issue because of keyword blocking of
MySpace.com. Additionally, I am saddened that the disconnet between
schools and our students' networks of communication might prevent
schools from uncovering other discussions of this type before it
progresses to the point of murder conspiracy charges that will ruin the
lives of five troubled young men.

Bud the Teacher has a wonderful podcast at
http://feeds.feedburner.com/BudTheTeacher?m=291 that speaks more about
this. Unfortunately, Bud's excellent blog and podcast are blocked at my
organization. Not to be too much of a self promoter, but I have been
talking about the need for us to tackle this issue on a professional
level, if for no other reason than that this is an affront to the
Library Bill of Rights. http://schoolof.info/infomancy/?p=195
