I am looking for information on circulation/cataloging software that is in use by school media centers. I am making a list of issues to consider as I investigate some of the software that is available. What I am wondering is: What cataloging/circulation software are you using? Estimate of the size of your collection? Your thoughts about the system (would you purchase it again or go with something else?) I did a quick check of the archives and found the following software mentioned (noting that some of the posts went back to 1997). Issues that were also mentioned are listed below. Software: Follett Athena Alexandria Winnebago Unison Mandarin Dynix Mitinet/Marc! Spectrum Issues to consider System’s ability to handle various sized collections Cost Tech support/customer service Report printing capabilities/options, such as ability to list the number of books signed out by category Ease of use If there is interest, I will, as always, be happy to post a Hit.
