[LM_NET] TECH: Symantec Norton Internet Security program

Hi,
   
  I have a Dell Dimension 4700 that is about a year old and it came with Symantec 
Norton Internet Security pre-installed.  I purchased the 2006 version and have 
tried and tried and tried to install the program without success.  I've followed 
the directions and temporarily turned off the XP firewall, but still no success.  I 
REFUSE to pay their tech support phone service since a brand new cd should be able 
to be installed by a customer at no additional cost.  I've spent hours on their 
tech support website, but that hasn't helped either.  Needless to say, I am quite 
frustrated and was wondering if we have any Symantec Norton experts on this 
listserv.  If you have any suggestions or advice for me, I would truly appreciate 
hearing from you.  Currently, I have no up-to-date virus protection on my home 
computer and that concerns me.
