This is an excellent point to make with your administrators and teachers. Few recognize the impact that a change in curriculum can have on the supplemental resources that are needed. While we try to provide the best resources with a limited budget, changes in curriculum can cause a LOT of hard work to be lost. Certainly we can try to utilize (and scrape together) some of the remaining supplemental materials to support the new curriculum, but it takes years to do this with a limited budget. I think asking for additionals funds to supplement the library when a new curriculum is added is an excellent way to make a point about library funding and the need to grease ALL the squeaky wheels on the cart...not just the front ones! ~Shonda Shonda Brisco, MLIS Library Media Specialist Arlington ISD Arlington, Texas sbrisco@gmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
