To All in the Invisible College,

Thanks for the quick responses. Here are the collective answer to the
above:

I use the regular book icon. Because we shelve them with the regular
books, this mostly works out, but it would be nice if there were an
audiobook option.

You can catalog your audio books as Sound Recording (Non-musical). This
will give you a microphone for an icon.

Recordings (non-musical)

Tag 245 - include reader information if on front cover Tag 250 -
abridged or unabridged Tag 300 - format and how long Tag 511 - read by
......

Tag 655 - Audiobooks.

Tag 700 - reader name

Use the Fixed Data Field 008. Click on Tag, edit leader, record type,
I=nonmusical sound recording. The icon will be the microphone.

I use the CD icon for all audio materials and the video icon for all
moving pictures (video, DVD, 16mm, etc).I use the CD icon for audio
books and music CDs (even though some of the audio books are cassettes)
and I use the film icon for videos and DVDs. The call numbers and
descriptions identify the type of media. I haven't had any complaints
and no one seems confused.

The music CDs have a different icon that has a musical note (we don't
have many and it's been quite some time since I've done one). I use the
nonmusical CD icon for the audiobooks.

It's the sound recording (non-musical)
