For Peggy and all:
   As a former broadcaster who keeps in touch, the date you are concerned about is 
sometime in January 2009 (I think).  At that time, all over the air tv stations 
must begin broadcasting in digital.  I have to do more research, but I don't think 
that means they will stop broadcasting in analog.  It will probably take several 
years after that--as analog transmission equipment wears out--before your analog TV 
becomes obsolete.
