Hello everyone, An English teacher asked me to find the source for Emerson's quote "What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." After doing some research on literature databases and search engines it would appear that this is not Emerson's quote at all and that it is Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes' quote. Does anyone know the source for this quote (poem, essay, speech) and who actually said it?
