I would agree with the stance of NOT labeling books that are
considered more advanced because it basically goes against the
principles of Intellectual Freedom and equal access by all students.

When librarians label materials to help students locate materials of
interest to them (such as genre labels for historical fiction,
mystery, etc.) it is done with the intention of helping all students
locate materials.  However, when librarians label materials to
"restrict" the access of some materials by others it is called
"censorship."

While there may be several different types of resources within a
library serving large groups of students of various ages, it is still
important to focus on guiding strong readers to materials of interest
to them. When we restrict students the access to materials based upon
perceptions of maturity, appropriateness, or read-ability, then we
become censors and not librarians.
