I'm hoping someone in the group has purchased these for their schools
and give me some guidance.

At present, each of our primary classes has a milk crate in the
classroom for media book returns. The books are picked up from the
classroom on the day that class has media. This means it is possible for
books to sit in the bin for a week. This has never been a problem until
this year. I have had numerous students tell me that they have put their
books in the crates, but during silent reading time, those students who
don't have a silent reading book will take one from the crate. I now
have several students who have books deemed lost because of this. I will
be sending an e-mail to the teachers reminding them to please not allow
students to do this, but I think I need to change how books are
returned. The media center is in a different building (middle school)
than the primary classes (2 primary school buildings) so students are
unable to return books during the day. I want to purchase 2 indoor book
returns. I don't need anything elaborate, but I do want something that
can be locked. I found on for $559 but didn't know if anyone knew of
anything cheaper. This far into the year the budget is a little low.

Thanks in advance.

"I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive
element in the classroom. It's my personal approach that creates the
climate. It's my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I
possess tremendous power to make a child's life miserable or joyous. I
can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can
humiliate or humor, hurt or heal."
