We would be required to do this except for the fact that most of our
book jobbers have contracts with the state of New York. They might have
the same with Michigan. It was easy to call BroDart, Follett,
PermaBound, Mackin, etc., to get the contract number.
These new auditing requirements are going to drive us all crazy, but we
can't fight 'em.

In the past, we have been able to order from the company of our choosing
when ordering books with designated book budget money while bond orders
have had to go out for bid. We have just learned that all orders must
now go out for bid. We are wondering if other media specialists in
Michigan schools (or other states) are required to bid book orders with
designated book budget money.
