This is the memo I sent out to my staff this morning. We use Microsoft Word 2003, so the instructions are geared to that. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Cool Microsoft Word Feature *Auto-summarize* I just found a cool feature in Microsoft Word (2003.) It will take a selected document and summarize it in various formats down to 10% or 25% of the original document. It works best with narrative, informational material. This would be great to summarize information for a student who may have trouble pulling out important information from a web site. Here is how to use it: 1. Load the document into Microsoft Word. 2. Highlight the text. 3. Go to "Tools" 4. From the pull-down menu, go to "Autosummarize" 5. You have several options of format. Try it out – it is very interesting. -- Frederick Muller, Librarian Halsted Middle School Library Newton, NJ mullinator52@gmail.com My book reviews are compiled at http://www.mullersreviews.com My book review blog is at http://MullerInTheMiddle.blogspot.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
