This post about prom brought up a pet peeve of mine. Have any of you had to put on
a prom? I am a class advisor and this year my class is in charge of prom. The pet
peeve is this: All of the catalogs for prom decorations and favors feature a large
assortment of alcoholic beverage glasses as favors. Does anybody besides me see a
problem with this? We're supposed to be trying to keep kids from drinking, not
promoting it. Call me a prude, but I refused to let my class buy any of that stuff.
Instead they will be handing out photo albums as favors. They didn't really seem to
have a big problem with this.
