I'm writing this in response to Debbie Reese's recent commentary on the inaccuracies in Gerald McDermott's book Arrow to the Sun. I am interested in discovering whether some of his other books, especially Coyote and Anansi the Spider, both of which we have in our library in the 398's, are also simply fiction and not truly Native American tales. I would change them to the fiction section if I knew they were at least partially made up by McDermott, and not simply existing tales retold by him. Does anyone know the answer?
