[LM_NET] elementary author study

I'm working on an author study involving the following authors for a third
grade class: Patricia Polacco, Emily Arnold McCully, Mark Teague, Mem Fox,
Chris van Allsburg, Daniel Pinkwater, and Audrey Wood.  I'd really like to
be able to introduce the authors with some interesting facts or trivia about
them and/or their works.  For example, I know Jan Brett includes a hidden
picture of Hedgie in all of her books.  Is there something similar to this
that I could use to excite students about their author, other than the
information I can find on their websites and the usual sources.
