I happened to be in a Dollar Tree store, when I discovered boxed valentines with "I 
Spy" and "Narnia" themes from Scholastic. For $1 I now have 34 "Bookmarks" ! It's 
almost impossible to find bookmarks for less than 4 cents that have a book theme. I 
bought enough for all 500 of my students AND their teachers, and I may add the gift 
of getting to check out an extra book (they currently are limited to 2 books) 
whenever they bring their bookmark back.

I'm looking for a fun idea for my 3rd graders for Valentine's week. Since it
is my first year, I don't have any previous projects to work from. My 2nd
graders will be writing a Valentine's letter to their favorite fictional
character, but I'm stuck for ideas for the 3rd grade. All suggestions are
greatly appreciated, just keep in mind that I have about 325 third graders
and limited supplies :o)
