Hello LM_NETTers, I thought I'd pass on this news article about an interesting use of Wikipedia. According to this news report, a professor at the University of British Columbia gave his class an assignmnent to write a Wikipedia article instead of a term paper. Students were graded based on whether their article was granted "feature article" status by Wikipedia. Apparently the professor's goal was to "force the class to explore the inner workings of Wikipedia... [the students] have all used Wikipedia, but none of them had ever added anything... the best way to see how it works is to actually take part" . Interestingly, this professor still does not allow Wikipedia articles to be cited in research projects!
