I have to agree with Ann. Google searches are very routine these days, not only by HR people and prospective employees but also by casual acquaintances. Imagine how you''d feel if you complained on LM_NET about a co-worker or working situation and your co-workers or boss found out. I once did a Goggle search on myself and discovered that some of my LM_NET postings had been picked up by other state school librarian listserves and were posted online without my knowledge. I brought this to the attention of one of our former moderators, Peter Milbury, and a copyright notice was posted in the LM_NET signature.
