Just a note:

Randy Pausch, the Carnegie Mellon University professor who delivered
(and then wrote the book about) "The Last Lecture" died yesterday of
pancreatic cancer.  If you haven't seen his presentation or read the
book, they are both "must-do" projects for educators (and anyone
living the "fast and furious life").  His work and life is a definite
inspiration!!

(On a side note, my 11-year old son took two computer-gaming classes
this summer that incorporated the use of the ALICE software which Dr.
Pausch helped to develop.  Watching a 5th grader create a computer
game using a software program that Dr. Pausch helped to develop made
me really appreciate his life work.  It also reminded me just how many
lives WE often touch without even realizing.  Because of this computer
program, my son is now interested in computer programming.)  ALICE is
