Thank you to all who answered my request for books for teachers to read. I have interesting titles to choose from. Many of you said, "anything by Jodi Picoult," and the consensus was-- A Thousand Splendid Suns is a better book than The Kite Runner. The other suggestions are: The Children's Blizzard Snow Flower and the Secret Fan The Thirteenth Tale People of the Book The Secret Life of Bees Angela's Ashes The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Me Talk Pretty One Day Naked (Sedaris) Teacher Man If I'd Known Then Lucia, Lucia Pillars of the Earth Nineteen Minutes (Picoult) The Bean Trees Three Cups of Tea The Other Boleyn Girl The Glass Castle The Double Bind The Book Thief Plain Truth (Picoult) Devil in the White City Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid Bridge of Sighs The Time Traveler's Wife. After reading reviews, we chose Wild Swans, The Time Traveler's Wife, People of the Book, Naked, Teacher Man, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Twilight-due to its appeal among our YA girls-and The Virgin Suicides. Happy reading, everyone, Pamela L. Thompson, MLS Library Media Specialist Col. John O.
