Greetings: I am working on an emailed research question.? The person is looking for information about schools (could be middle schools or high schools, but her focus is on middle), who have adopted a 6 period day.? This is apparently not the same as a block schedule, but is just shortening the day from 7 periods to 6.? The primary question is how student schedules are set up to include required classes, electives, and activities like choir that often take a class period.? Also how are the teaching teams configured?? If this sounds like your school, or you know of a school that is doing this, please reply off-list with some contact information.
