We are planning a 2 day, real-world, critical thinking, team-building type project for our school. The challenge is to design a School of the 21st Century - a school that teaches 21st century learning skills. We are not looking for architectural ideas, since our school is only 5 years old. The ultimate goal is to come up with innovative teaching methods and tools and to make some of the ideas a reality right here in this building. This would be a 2 year+ plan. The vision would be created this year. Next year the teams would work on writing grants and/or requesting district budget support to make the best ideas become a reality. I am looking for links that would help us out - especially examples of non-traditional schools that feature a lot of "hands on" learning. I would LOVE to find some videos for the kids to watch, as well as web site links. Anything you could suggest would be gratefully accepted. If you are interested in more details - you can look at this blog post that gives a general outline of the project: http://nlcommunities.com/communities/wanderings/articles/155323.aspx Jacquie "The Librarian, whose job is to heal ignorance, to keep life safe for poetry and to put knowledge smack dab in the middle of the American way."
