This has been an interesting thread. The reason I was given, many years ago, for stamping a secret page (11 or 13) was for use when the book was rebound, which obviously involved removal of the covers and lining pages. In those days, believe it or not, it was cost effective to rebind well-loved books. With the advent of inexpensive paperback editions and the rising cost of book binding, all that wnet by the wayside. I do have to admit that for years I went on blithely stamping an inside page simply out of habit. How our job has changed through the years! Linda S.
