Thanks for the information on the Beowulf text! I can use the information received:
Why don't you consider collaborating with your English teacher and use the graphic
novel as an extension/enrichment?
You could have a reading circle with the graphic novel. (I've done this before but
not with this topic). After they read it in class or at home, you host a reading
circle meeting and discuss the novel..what they liked, what they didn't like, how
would they have done it, etc. Other activities can include writing an epitaph for
Grendel and their own epitaphs, etc.
Good idea!

I am interested in a good lesson plan for using the graphic novel version of
Beowulf. I have a number of low-level English classes who find tackling the poem in
the textbook difficult. I would like to supplement the text with the graphic novel.
