Hi~ Many years ago, when our wonderful MS principal retired, another teacher and I fired up a video camera and, over several days, gave our 330 MS students the opportunity to say, "syonara." One trio of eighth grade girls came on camera and were typically appreciative of Sue's leadership. They went on to say it was an unusual experience to be in the "onsen" (public bath) with their principal (as part of one of our extended campus trips to a remote locale without showers). The girls went on to say how surprised they were to see that their principal had a tattoo :-) Best regards, Martin Swist mswist@asij.ac.jp Middle School LMS Middle School XC Coach The American School In Japan 1-1-1 Nomizu, Chofu-shi, Tokyo "The heart is a little to the left." My students couldn't believe that their 50 something librarian actually got a "real " tattoo. Our fine arts teacher has several, but somehow the librarian stereotype made them disbelieve my decoration. I've had fun with it--I guess it makes me feel adventurous in a way that breaks down the stuffy librarian stereotype.
