Can't resist sharing this!

My husband, a high school physics teacher, recently became a NASA
fellow (only 30 teachers were chosen nationwide!) Today, a local news
team came to interview him about his upcoming visit to Mission Control
for the Mercury Messenger space probe fly-by on October 6. On
Fridays, he always wears what he calls a "geek shirt," meaning a
t-shirt with a slogan. Knowing the TV news team was coming, he
selected his shirt with great care.

Here's what it said on the front: I READ BANNED BOOKS! On the back,
it has a quote from Pres. Johnson: "Books and ideas are the most
effective weapons against intolerance and ignorance." The video
shows a great close-up of his shirt and its message. (I'm so proud
that he chose to wear such an important message during Banned Books
Week! I bought the t-shirt a few years ago from a fellow LM_Netter,
who was selling them as a fundraiser. I searched and searched in the
archives but couldn't figure out who it was. If it was you, your
t-shirt design is having its 15 minutes of fame.)

If you would like to share the Mercury fly-by with your students, my
husband will be sharing details on his wiki, blog, and on Twitter.

Thanks for letting me share!
