LM_NET Archive



I have 600+ kids.  Day one is under way, and I just checked out my first class.  
The kids would be irate if they were told they couldn't have access to the books.  
Even during my pre-duty days, I encouraged kids to check out books when they 
stopped by.  That's why they're here.  That's why I'm here.  

PE teachers, art teachers, and other "specialists" see kids on the first day.  Why 
can't we?

That's the way I do it, too. Since I'm around much of the summer, 
teachers often check things out then. Students are free to start 
checking things out at open house, which is a couple of days before the 
first day of school. Not many take advantage of that, but I have had 
some get popular books before everyone else gets them.
