________________________________ From: Melissa Moore Sent: Tue 9/2/2008 6:08 PM To: listserv@listserv.syr.edu Subject: Cleaning Books While you are in full gear at school, we are STILL taking part in in-services (we will be allowed in our schools this Friday). Hurricane Dolly caused major damage to many of our schools and to top things off, they were under re-construction. We got a waiver from the state and are able to delay the first day of school by 2 weeks (at least we don't have to make them up!). We have heard that our classrooms are in disarray and not to even think our posters and "things" are in any usable condition. The librarians in my district (we are 4) are wondering what we can use to clean up the books. One of them was planning on using Windex but was told that would damage them. Do any of you have experience with this? Please help us get our books ready for the first day of school next Monday.
