I actually did a presentation regarding this topic at the Illinois
Computing Educators conference a few years ago. I was responsible for
making the entire thing. So if anyone would like to contact me off list
anytime.

Subject: OT: Help with "Video Yearbook" class

Friends-

One of our new staff members has been given the task of creating a
"Video Year Book." (I see that there is another post today w/ some
questions about this--so I'll share findings...) This is an 8th grade
class.

The class has few parameters--the previous teacher created a few
streaming videos that were on-line for a week or two and I haven't seen
them since. I'm reasonably certain that NOBODY looked at it.

I've suggested going back to a solid media (DVD or CD-Rom) and making a
fairly simple categorized video for distribution or purchase.

I know there are companies that SELL this service--we don't have the
luxury of hiring one at this point in the year (or probably at all.)

Class is already enrolled and starts in January--(I know, how do you do
a YEAR book when the class starts in January?)

I think the class needs a "Viking Funeral" but we're still committed to
providing the best experience for students that we can.

Please help?

Anything we can throw at the wall that will stick would be helpful.
(Unspoken metaphor intentional)

Harry
