I've attended the SLJ Leadership Summit for the last three years.
It's really not a vendor's fair at all--- in fact, there's not much
time to visit with the vendors because you are involved in so many
different "think tank" sessions during this very short weekend
adventure. This is more of a "brain drain" weekend than a vendor's
fair.

If you plan to attend, rest up!! You will need all of your thoughts,
ideas, and creative juices to keep up with the fast and furious
thoughts that take you beyond the realms of the average school library
summit / conference. In fact, think outside and beyond the box when
you attend because the average ideas are already known to most who are
there...it's the wild ideas that are considered beyond reason---you
know, the ones that you'd never even suggest in a normal "K-12 school
environment"--- that we begin to ponder and ask, "why not?" It's
thinking at its highest level and the information and ideas will
continue to haunt you well beyond the summit. (I'm still thinking
about the ideas generated from last year's summit...but I must focus
on this year's theme!!)

Hope you can come...I'll be there, too!
