In 1994-5 the librarians in my district proposed 4 websites. K-5,
6-8, 9-12, and my K-12 site cataloged by Dewey. We were told it had
to go on the district website. Normally if a website was on the
school district server, it was owned by the district. We were told by
the administration then, that if we wanted to use the sites in our
schools, it had to be on the school district server, and had to have
the district URL. The administrator in charge then was very
controlling. I made it clear then the the Dewey site belonged to me
not the district. It was on the district site for a few years, but
when the other sites weren't maintained,I took it off, bought my own
domain name, and moved it to an ISP.
