It is a good practice for school libraries to have their own off site
URLs. The expense is minimal. By doing so, the library has some
autonomy from technology departments. The URL should be paid for /
owned by the school. Off sie usually ensures 24/7 access in the case of
local power outages. Video and other pages can be directed to any IP
opened up that your school owns. This autonomy, including the URL name
will bring more definition to your library and help centralize it to
what it really should be in any good school; the information and
communications hub - the exciting and dynamic center of the school.
