Hello All, I have an idea that I have been using as part of a keyword search lesson. I had a librarian friend say that I should share it, so here it is. I talk with my students about the importance of finding the keywords in the questions in which they are researching. The students think about the important words in their questions and do a search using Google, EBSCO, or World Book Online, for example. The students practice this skill with the game Trivial Pursuit. We have 4 different games and the students are put in 4 groups. The students use the questions from the game, pick out the important words in the questions, and do a search for the information needed to answer the question. I tell the students that they may use any resource available to them in the library including books. I have some limitations in the game to make it move more smoothly, but this is it in a nutshell. The kids don't think it is work because they are having fun doing it. I have seem it make a big difference when they are researching for other assignments.
