What if you are a penguin living at the very tip of Argentina not far 
from the South Pole?  What if you love soccer, fishies, and most of 
all, water, but you can't swim? Would you also be scared of water, 
especially the very deep kind? Sergio certainly is . . . because 
Sergio can't swim.  Unfortunately, when he goes on a field trip with 
his classmates, the trip is to the very deep ocean so that Mrs. 
Waddle can teach them to swim. Rodriguez's black, white, blue and 
gold illustrations, rendered in woodblock ink and combined with 
digital media are humorous and highly graphic (imagine a black and 
white penguin decked out in a gold snorkel mask and gold floaties in 
an ocean of blue).  Young listeners will enjoy this funny and 
reassuring look at a common childhood fear. Suggested ages 4-7.
