Are you looking for variants of familiar folk tales for your library 
sessions or your teachers' classroom use?  Take a look at The 3 Bears 
and Goldilocks for a retelling of the familiar story by the 
author/illustrator team who brought us the three Clever Beatrice 
tales.  Students will find much to compare when looking at this 
point-of-view shifted tale.  Above all, we learn, it is Goldilocks' 
curiosity that leads to her adventure in the three bears' cabin.  And 
she can't say that her father didn't warn her against impulsive 
adventures! This gorgeously illustrated book with sprightly language 
will inspire much discussion and creative thinking.  Young students 
will have fun with a double bubble discussion activity, while older 
students may be encouraged to write other familiar folk tales from 
altered points of view.  Highly recommended. Suggested ages: 4-7.
