Our home computer gave up the ghost after 7 years of (mostly) faithful service. I bought a new HP with the Vista 64-bit OS and was able to salvage all of our files from the old hard drive including the iTunes library. Since my kids are getting older and wanting to use the computer more I have set up separate user accounts so I can control how much damage they do. I want to have all of the accounts access the same iTunes (v.8) library, including play lists. Following Apple's instructions, every time one of us adds a CD or play list each individual user has to import the folder/file in order to see it-- what a pain. Does anyone know how to set things up so that the library is truly shared and not just accessible for importing? I know I can set up a shared account and we can all use that for our iPods but I know we will inevitably forget to change users before docking and syncing. And anyway, we should be able to do that on a home computer, darn it!
