Hello,
My husband is being transferred to Atlanta, and we are taking a trip there
this weekend to scope out areas to live. If you live (or have lived) in
Atlanta and would be willing to share some insight on the following, I'd
love to hear from you:

We're most interested in very "walkable" neighborhoods. Ideally, the sort
where you can get essentials, dinner, a drink, etc. all within a short
walk from your home. I've used the website www.walkscore.com to get an
idea of some good candidates; however the site admits that their scoring
method does not take into account things like how safe the neighborhood is
or if it is particularly pedestrian friendly (for example, there may be
many businesses nearby, but you'd have to cross the interstate to get to
them).

Hubby will be working at the Delta Airlines headquarters, so we'd like the
daily commute to not be too bad for him, if at all possible. I have no
idea what I'm going to do for work down there, so my workplace can't be
taken into account at this time.

...Which reminds me: If anyone has any thoughts on what a gal with an
MLIS, an elementary ed. degree, and 5 years' experience as a library media
specialist could/should do for work in Atlanta, feel free to share any
thoughts on that one, too!

Thank you for any assistance you can provide!
