LM_NET Archive

I should have made myself more clear.
I do know there are International copyright laws.I am wondering mainly about the
use of photos posted on the internet. With help from Susie on LM_NET, I was able to
read a discussion on flicker about the posted on yotophote and the claim of
creative commons and public domain. It is clear, that residents of many countries
disagree about what photos fall where. Yotofoto domain is now for sale because of
the controversy.
I am trying to find information about the use of images from other countries. I
assume you follow the laws where you live no matter where the photo or image
originated. Is this correct?

I have been using an image for a few years I believed was not copyrighted and free
to use. Now, I am wondering if I need to delete this image from all my online
accounts. I can no longer locate this image to confirm either way, use it, or dump
it?
Advice?

Subject: [LM_NET] copyright laws in other countries

Does anyone know if other countries have different copyright laws than we do in the
U.S.?
How does that affect photos on the internet?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
