Unfortunately they're the ones who didn't follow their own authority file years ago because they're the ones that issued the CIP for what I seem to remember was around the 3rd book in the "Indian" series and listed it as "Reid Banks." I caught it and called our public library to see what they had done and their catalogers hadn't caught the discrepancy. There was some discussion at the time that her last name was actually "Reid Banks" but I changed those that came in that way to "Banks". The best source for name authorities is the Library of Congress Authorities. It would be great if everybody bookmarked the site: < http://authorities.loc.gov/> Here is their reference for Lynne Reid Banks: < http://authorities.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?AuthRecID=505389&v1=1&HC=1&SEQ=20100225105442&PID=q4NTYquAAJf9xmPBM1Y_8v_6UD3h > They give Banks as her last name.
